Graphic Design

Why this design matters...
This design helped me grow as a graphic designer because American Eagle has been around for decades. Like with any project, advertising them came with its own set of challenges because people already know about American Eagle.
Instead of introducing the company, I wanted to accentuate what consumers really need to know—why they should buy from American Eagle.
In my opinion, every good advertisement is a little bit creative with its wordplay. The best ads are the ones we memorize and automatically associate with brands. That's why I decided to do a play on words with "jeans" and "genes."
I kept the design and wording simple, making sure to keep the text large and show only what customers really need to know. This helped me learn how to use Adobe Illustrator.
Why this design matters...
My favorite designs to do always involve journalism. While I was executive editor of The Franklin, Franklin College's student-led magazine, I had the chance to fully lead my team of reporters and editors to do a full magazine rebrand.
In this magazine issue, we decided to lean into the spring theme and center it around "blooming." I drew design elements myself and incorporated them into the magazine's design. The back cover is fully my own drawing, and I love how it fits with the front cover.
This magazine taught me so much about leading a team and fulfilling a vision. We started from nothing and created something beautiful.

Why this design matters...
With my brochure design for aerie, I really wanted to replicate their color scheme and mission statements while also adding in new ideas. Because the whole campaign is about being untouched and natural, I wanted to use earth tones like beige and green.
This design helped me grow as a graphic designer because the company already had established its reputation. aerie is and continues to be known for celebrating individuality, and as a designer, I had to make sure I reflected that in my design.
This was also my very first brochure, which has its own unique challenges due to the folding and printing process with brochures. It gave me so much experience with using Adobe InDesign, which I'm now extremely comfortable with.
